Toys I love

I have a weird thing about toys. I like toys that inspire imagination and creative play, not the ones that light up and make noise and do everything for you. Playing is a child's job, it's how they learn and grow, and I really want to make them have to work at it, and imagine things. I also LOVE good quality wooden toys. They hold up better and are better for the environment. I know I sound like a total hippie, and I never thought this would be me in a million years, but after being around so many children and nannying, I really think children who have less toys and more simplistic toys are better set for their future. Who knows maybe I'm wrong, but here are some toys I am wanting to get my hands on for Little R.

I want Little man to have a billion books, and I want to read some to him every day. I love books and I think it is important to teach him early that reading is fun and important.

I like wooden toys for baby to chew on. It's natural. No chemicals (see there I go all hippie again)

I also love the brand Green Toys. All of their toys are made in the US from recycled milk jugs. How cool is that?! I love this Airplane! Little man's Grandpa Robertson flys and I know he would love seeing this in the nursery.

Little man's style

Much like I don't like character rooms, I don't like character clothing even more. I realize kids live for these things and eventually Little Man is going to start dressing himself and start to develop a style and taste for what he wants and likes and I will have to give in to those spider man shoes I hate so much so his feelings don't get hurt. But while he is little and I get to dress him, I am going to stay far far away from them! These days there are little boy clothes that are just as cute as some of those precious little girl dresses and outfits, you just have to look for them.

I love it when small children are dressed like adults. It just kills me how stinking cute they look! Like onesies that have bow ties and vests! LOVE!

Seriously Etsy.com has the cutest little guy stuff.

I want to put him in little polo shirts, and button downs, and sweaters, and jeans OMG do I love babies in jeans! And cute little sweatsuits with ears on the hoodie. I also want him to dress in quirky little shirts. Aaron used to always wear funny shirts and I miss those now that he is in dress clothes or scrubs everyday.

I can't wait to actually get him here and snuggle him and put some cute clothes on him!
