Snowdogs

I was organizing some pictures today when I came across these. Aaron and I made them one day. We went out to play with the dogs and ended up playing our selves. I miss the farm and being able to let the girls out and running around with them.

Our snow-family!

This one is Meeka, you can tell by the long tail.

This is Lily, notice the curly tail :)

Crunchy Homemade Granola

I love granola. Plain, golden, crunchy deliciousness. However its so expensive for a tiny little box of it.  So I figured I'd just make my own. I searched tons of recipes but they all had dried fruit, nuts and so much sugar I was sure you would get a cavity after just one bite. So I took it upon myself to make my own granola recipe. It was heavenly. I'd love to share my yummy crunchy granola with you!!

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Quick oats
  • 1Tbsp Brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Flax seed
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 Cup honey
  • 2Tbsp melted butter
Preheat the oven to 250. In a large bowl mix the first 4 ingredients until combined. Put the honey and butter in the microwave for 15 second intervals until the butter is melted. Then pour the honey/butter over the oat mixture and stir. Make sure all the oats are covered. Lightly spray a large cookie sheet. Dump oats onto the sheet and spread out evenly. Bake for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes.

I've also come up with a couple variations I might try in the near future. This was VERY good granola we are almost out! It's great with yogurt, on Ice Cream, or plain. I think you should make some this weekend, you wont regret it! Let me know how it turns out! Have a great weekend! Happy baking! :)

Our Apartment!

I kow what you are thinking, "Two posts in a row, what is going on?!?!" I told you I would try to be better! Anyway here is what our apartment looks like!

Here is a layout of what the apartment looks like. It's not to scale, In fact I just used Word and a bunch of squares. Not exact, but you get the idea.

Looking down the hall as you walk into the apartment from the front door.

Immediately to the right is the bathroom and first closet.

The next door on the right is the office.

Trendy wall art, and the kennels, and Meeka's cute little tush.

Looking out of the office.

The living room is at the end of the hallway.

See my peace lily on the book shelf? I was soooo excited when I found it super cheap at the local market! I still need to repot it but I love having some green in the apartment.

This is looking back towards the front door. Lily was eating breakfast. Pretty cool food stands huh!

Looking down the second hall into the kitchen. Like my wine rack? Its a little empty, but I think its super cute!

This is my only real complaint about this apartment, my tiny little kitchen.

I love the window in the bedroom. On the sill there is a basil plant. Having fresh basil is delicious, plus it smells soooo good! Eventually I'd like to get some more herbs.

Well there you have it, a tour of our apartment. I love it. The floors are my favorite part, they are so beautiful. I still want to decorate a little more, but that will come in time. There are also a few DIY projects I'd like to do too, so when I get around to them I will let you know. And just in case any of you are wondering there is definitely plenty of room for guests to come stay...AHEM...HINT...HINT :) Happy Tuesday to everyone I'll post more soon!! :)

Hello, I'm still alive!

OK ok You got me. I am a TERRIBLE blogger! Lets just get that out of the way. I'll try harder. SOOOOOO.....We moved to Brooklyn, and when I say we I mean Lily, Meeka, and I drove half way across the country, while Aaron was in Dominica doing his OB rotation. On day one I stopped In Michigan to meet up with some family and to stay the night. Then drove the rest of the way on day two.
View Larger Map That was my route. We stopped every half tank to fill up and stretch our legs. The girls are fabulous travelers. They mostly sleep, eat their chewy sticks, or gnaw on a bone. It was so nice to have them with me. Once we got to brooklyn we stayed at the La Quinta for 3 days until the apartment I had found was ready. Then we moved from the hotel to our new home where we lived for almost 2 weeks with only an air mattress, my computer (without internet for the first week), a bag of dog food and, some clothes. Our stuff finally arrived the night before Aaron was due home, so the poor guy came home to lots and lots of boxes. It was pretty stressful and I DO NOT EVER want to do that again all by myself! But we are all unpacked and settled in. Pictures soon!

Meet the Robertsons! :)

I am now Mrs. Aaron Robertson! We couldn't be happier! Everything turned out a million and ten times better than we could have ever imagined it would. Vegas was unbelievable fun, but it flew by! It was great to be surrounded with our family and friends. And I'm in love with our pictures! The day of the reception there was a blizzard outside, but a few brave souls still came to celebrate and we had a fantastic time dancing the night away!
Have a very Merry and safe Christmas!!
